Intern

Each semester, including summer term, Welcome Baby has multiple interns. There are many valuable experiences interns have while volunteering with Welcome Baby.

Eve Desmarais

Eve Desmarais

Eve Desmarais is from Baltimore, Maryland. She is currently living in Provo to attend Brigham Young University. She is graduating in April with a degree in public health and a minor in gerontology. Eve is passionate about education and helping families stay happy and healthy. She is excited to be a part of Welcome Baby because of the opportunity she will have to connect new parents to their available resources. In her spare time, Eve loves being outside, reading, and spending time with her new fiance.

Bekah Saenz

Bekah Saenz

Bekah was born in Provo and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is currently in her last semester at BYU-Idaho. Her major is Public Health with an emphasis in Health Education and Promotion. Bekah has an avid love for maternal health and is excited to be able to help new parents in Utah County with the Welcome Baby Program. In her free time, Bekah loves being with her husband Juan and being a mom to her baby girl Maya. She also loves Zumba, hiking, eating movie theater popcorn, taking pictures, binging shows on Netflix and spontaneous road-trips.

Mallory Applegarth

Mallory Applegarth

Mallory Applegarth grew up in Tooele, Utah but now lives in South Jordan. She is currently studying Public Health at Brigham Young University Idaho with an emphasis in Health Science. Since Mallory was young, she has loved playing with children, learning about health and educating others. It is her goal to one day become a Physician’s Assistant. Mallory is super excited to meet the families of Utah County and help parents succeed in their mission to raise their amazing children. Mallory’s hobbies include reading, watching home makeover shows, hanging out with her niece, and being a jokester.

Erin Jacobsen

Erin Jacobsen

Erin Jacobsen is originally from Henderson, Nevada. She is currently attending BYU and will be graduating with a degree in Human Development in April. Erin loves working with children and their families, and providing education and resources to promote healthy family relationships. After graduation, Erin plans to continue working with families. Erin’s enjoys spending time with her husband, hanging out with her family and friends, teaching tumbling, reading, and watching The Office.
