Home Visitation Volunteer

Welcome Baby’s home visitation program is sponsored by the Utah County Health Department and United Way of Utah County.  We train volunteers to visit new parents in our community. We are a unique program because we are one of only a few home visitation programs in the world that is run by volunteers!

Come have fun interacting with parents and their new babies, bringing research based, reliable information and sharing updated community resources with Utah County families! Volunteers receive training in motor, language, emotional and cognitive development, infant massage, community resources and much more.

We look for volunteers that have experience working with children and families especially experienced mothers, grandmothers, and couples.  We also recruit students with some education in related field.

Here are some volunteer expecatations:

  • A commitment of at least six months
  • Complete an Online Training and understand Volunteer Expectations
  • Complete two co-visits with an experienced volunteer before taking on your own families
  • Make an appointment with the family within five days of accepting the family from Welcome Baby staff.
  • Attend one Volunteer In-Service Training per quarter year - In-service is a great way for volunteers to enhance their home-visitation experience and receive updated child development information to bring to families.

By volunteering with us, you can make a difference in the lives of families in Utah County!
